How It All Started
David Thomson hails from Dumfries; a town neighbouring Annan. He doesn't live there any more but still has family connections with the area so he and Teresa Church are frequent visitors. David also enjoys thinking and drinking whisky so the couple had been considering this type of venture for about 15 years. They had some vague notion that there was once a distillery near Annan but thought it lost and gone forever. Strangely there was (and still is) almost no local awareness of Annandale Distillery -- truly a 'Sleeping Beauty'.
